So, this has been a very heated internet debate. Would you,or do you, read the pm's of your members? If yes, why? If no, why?
I have a plugin that logs all om general info, and every pm has a "report pm" button beneath it.
So, if there is ever a case of pm spam or someone is abusing pm's, I can find out.
I have only had to use this twice, once to check if someone was spamming everyone with their link, and the other time because someone was editing pm'sand sending them to me so I didn't have the correct information I needed to take action.

I wouldn't read anyone's PM's unless there was an issue with a member that involved PM's, but that's the only time I would ever read anyone's PM's.

PM's are considered private. That is why most forum software have it so even the main admin account, can not access the PM's of other members. The only way to have a staff member to see a PM is if it was reported.
Yes, it is true, that it could be looked up, in the database, for those that have own hosted forums, but even then, it could land the admin in troubles. Unless I'm mistaken, there is a legal take on this issue.

I would never read anyone's PMs unless I thought they were trying to put the forum or a member of ours in danger, and even then..I would just stick to banning.
